Summer mini update:)

Summer is here!! Yay!! The water has been so nice this year and when we have had the chance to get to the beach we have had a such a wonderful time. Maya loves the ocean, she is a child of the water for sure. If she is near the water she wants to be in the water! We have been having a problem with keeping her clothes on her..even a bathing suit..but I suppose that is ok for now:) Torrie finished the 7th grade with another year of honor roll the whole year!! We are super proud of her achievements in school. This is the 5th year that she has received straight A's and B's. I finished a chemistry class online that I needed for school...and my final grade was an 89 so I was extremely happy with that! I taught myself chemistry..one of the hardest things I have ever done, and a lot of very late nights... but I made it and now I am signed up for the Anatomy class in the Fall along with a math class and I will also be taking a CNA class...so close to being able to apply for the nursing program, please pray that I can handle this load~~~ I am also working a part time job in the evenings so I have been a busy girl. Maya is now potty trained...yeah!!!! I found that the rewards chart really does work, at least with 3 year olds:) Torrie has been enjoying her summer so far, she went camping in WV with her best friend and has started surfing again. She is also trying to get jobs babysitting to try and make some money for herself. Ronnie is plugging away at work and getting ready to record an album with his old band Drill187. He is excited to have a creative outlet. It is hard for him living so far from friends that he used to jam with. It has been a hard year financially for us, but I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and God has lead us this far and will see us through! Until next time:) We love you all~

Spring Has Sprung!

Spring is here finally:) It is always wonderful to start to see the flowers come out! It is also wonderful to get out of the house and spend some time on the beach or evening walks to the sound. Maya loves walking down to the sound and playing by the water. She also have become such a beach baby. Every day she asks if we can go to "da beeech". It is hard to believe that she will be 3 soon~Torrie is almost done with her 7th grade year and just brought home another AB honor roll report card! I am so proud. She has also started soccer again and had her first game today. Her team didn't win but boy did they play great! I continue on with my schooling......Nursing school is so close now I can't wait!! 3 more classes and then all I will have left is the nursing classes....I first have to pass the Certified Nursing Class, Anatomy and Chemistry.....Wish me Luck...I was also invited to join the National Honor Society and also invited to apply for appointment as one of the College's Student Ambassadors. Who knew I would be a great student...LOL Ronnie also has some exciting things on the horizon too so, I will try to update and keep everyone informed. We are blessed everyday and we thank our lord for all those blessings!!

Love you all!

Enjoying a sucker that we got from the bank before we went to the beach~Maya knows when we go to the bank she gets candy so she gets super excited and always yells "Thanks" to the bank teller after getting her sucker....they love her at the bank:) Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have that much excitement over the little things in life?
It is so much fun going with her to the beach now...she plays and plays...then when she is over it, she will say "Lets go home" and will pick up her bucket and start walking towards the car..LOL..
Don't know what I am gonna do with that hair though, may have to cut it for the summer....stay tuned:)

We actually got a little bit of snow here on the Outer Banks. This is a rare occurrence. Maya loves the snow and I am not sure who was more excited about it, her or me....:) We suited up and went and had fun until the snow turned to rain....she still didn't want to come in. We had a nice weekend inside enjoying family time.

Torrie being silly~

Maya and Daddy time~Maya playing dress up~

She loves to sit in the sink and have her hair done. I have found this is the only way she will let me brush her hair so whatever works!
